Trekking In Sikkim
Trekking in Sikkim will take us through a country that has managed to
remain relatively unscathed from the gripes of mass tourism. In its immensely
diverse and undulating topography, varied climate and mix of people, a
trip to Sikkim combines to produce a magical attraction for outsiders.
For mountain lovers, the popular 9D roundabout trek to
the viewpoint of 4984-m Goecha La (the Lock Pass) offers a sensational
view of the huge southeast face of Mount Kangchenjunga (8598-m). Unlike
trekking in Nepal and other places in the Indian Himalaya, few other travellers
are encountered on the trail, and the land is pristine and unspoiled.

Nature & Culture
With its wide climatic ranges & conditions condensed within a small
region, Sikkim also boasts a richness and variety of fauna & flora
that has few equals elsewhere in the world. With its wise environmental
code, Sikkim is still blessed with some of the thickest forest canopies
in its lowlands compared to anywhere else in the Himalaya. In spring,
the land blossoms into a naturalist wonderland with blooms everywhere.
With its rich Buddhist-Tibetan heritage, there are more
than 200 monasteries scattered across the land, including some of the
most famous & revered. The customs and cultures of the different communities
that reside here also present a kaleidoscopic picture. A visit to Sikkim
can be timed to coincide with one of the many festivals at different times
of the year.
