Trekking In Nepal
For mountain lovers, the highlight of any trip to Nepal would surely be a trek in "The Abode of Gods". Among the world's most famous mountain ranges, the Nepal Himalaya must rank as THE trekker's paradise. It boasts 8 of the world's 14 Eight-Thousanders - peaks that are more than 8,000 meters high - including the highest, Everest. A trek in the Himalaya is a special and rewarding mountain holiday and it is indeed a privilege to be able to trek in the mountain of the gods. Draped amidst remote valleys and deep gorges, the paths are timeless pilgrimage routes, trails that run between villages on terraced hillsides or tracks to high grazing pastures, and of course to high passes or viewpoints for a glimpse of the unforgettable lofty snow-clad ice-castles in the faraway distance. Nature, Culture & Other Outdoor Pursuits
Besides spectacular mountain ranges, the Himalaya is home to people from diverse ethnic groups with rich cultural traditions. Hindu temples, Buddhist stupas, rolling countryside and huddled brick villages provide incentives for touring the prosperous Kathmandu Valley, as do the historically independent city-states of Patan and Bhaktapur. Nepal also boast an astounding diversity of life, from rhinos to snow leopards and a visit to Chitwan National Park should not be missed for its protected wildlife such as the endangered Asian one-horned rhinos, and elephant safari rides. For adrenaline junkie, the thrilling 2D Bhote Kosi Class 4-5 whitewater rafting adventure is rated among the top-5 overnight rafting trips in the world. Those with more time and less heart may want to try the more sedate 3D Kali Gandaki rafting trip instead. The Borderland resort, located along the Arniko Highway near the Tibet border, offers the newly introduced sport of canyoning as one of its activities. And when you're done with adventure pursuits, Pokhara Lakeside would be the ultimate place to kick back and relax. It is a backpacker's dream: panoramic views of the Annapurna range obscured by mountains of pizza and apple pie.
