Season

Rajasthan - the best time to visit is during winter (November to February) when days are cool and dry.

Himachal Pradesh : in general, mid May to mid October is good for visits south of Lahaul-Spiti region while late December to March is ideal for winter sports such as skiing.

Lahaul-Spiti : the climate is very much similar to that of Ladakh and Zanskar. Between late October and late May, heavy snow closes the passes, and seals off the region. The most reliable period for tourists and trekkers is in the month of July, August and September.

Ladakh and Zanskar : winters are intensely cold with heavy winter snows from November to May and temperatures of -30 degrees common in most parts. Hence the only time to visit is during the summers from June to October (by flight otherwise same as Lahaul if by overland).
