Gunung Datuk Trek & 1 Night in Malacca
Gunung Datuk is a little-known mountain located at
Rembau in the state of Negri Sembilan.
At 900m, Gunung Datuk is considered a short mountain
and the hike up to the summit takes about 2-3 hours. The summit offers
a splendid full 360 degree unobstructed panorama view of the entire
state - you can even see the Straits of Melaka on a good day. To reach
the summit, hikers need to climb up a ladder section near the top. Once
atop, the summit feels windy as it is basically an exposed rocky outcrop
and therefore can get a bit tricky to walk around on if there is a big
group on top. This is a short interesting trek which can be completed
by any reasonably fit hiker.
To add more fun to the trip, we will spend a night in Malacca (real cushy bed) which will make the trip less tiring, more meaningful and enjoyable. It is also a time to interact and getting to know each other better over nyonya food, starbuck coffee etc. Participants get to work out (trekking up the mountain) , making new friends while enjoying a relax night away in Peranakan City
As in our standard Malaysia's treks, you do not need to take leave for this outing. The trip arrangement is a comfortable one: by chartered vehicle to bring you all the way right to the foot of the mountain.

Everyone needs to be prepared for bad weather with basic waterproofing
gear ( ponchos, rain-coats, ... even umbrellas are helpful ... ! ) and
insect repellents will be especially useful. If rainy, waterproofing
for your backpack is a must and the trek up will be wet, muddy &
slippery so having a pair of good hiking boots will make a lot of difference
and gives you better grip on muddy/slippery grounds.
