Malaysia
Gunung Angsi Trek & 1 Night in Malacca
Gunung Angsi is located in the Ulu Bendol Recreational
Forest about 20km from Seremban, the capital of Negri Sembilan, a destination
not commonly visited by people.
The trek up to Gunung Angsi ( 825m ) takes about 2
to 2.5 hours and is moderately challenging on wide well-defined paths.
From the summit, there are good views of Seremban and the Straits of
Melaka below. Along the way, hikers will encounter 3 steep slopes which
may prove interesting for the regular hikers while 1st-timers may find
them a daunting challenge. A couple of big tree trunks along the path
provide some nice places to stop & rest while enjoying the breeze.
The Ulu Bendol forest is a favourite place for picnickers
especially during the weekends. The refreshing and cool water from the
Batang Terachi River stream that meanders through the park offers a
fun place for visitors bent on having a dip. Here, the visitor will
find a cascading waterfall and a man-made rock pool ideal for splashing
around.
To add more fun to the trip, we will spend a night in Malacca (real cushy bed) which will make the trip less tiring, more meaningful and enjoyable. It is also a time to interact and getting to know each other better over nyonya food, starbuck coffee etc. Participants get to work out (trekking up the mountain) , making new friends while enjoying a relax night away in Peranakan City.
As in our standard Malaysia's treks, you do not need to take leave for this outing. The trip arrangement is a comfortable one: by chartered vehicle to bring you all the way right to the foot of the mountain.
In summary, this is a short & challenging trek
which can be completed by any reasonably fit hiker.
