Bintan Weekend Cycling

In this trip, we will bring you through the unspoilt beauty of Bintan, the unexplored regions out of the touristy resort belt.

For the first day, we will cycle either along the coast of Trikora beach just next to the sea or in the trails near the coast. Cycling along the beach is never a boring affair at Trikora as you will be ride through kampungs and observe the lives of the locals. Spot the floating kelongs “parked” just by the beach! Enjoy the breezy ride as the beautiful scenery goes pass you. Coconut trees swaying by the beach, waves lapping gently against the shore.

We will spend the night on board a floating kelong. Spend the night fishing away or simply lay back and marvel at the starry skies above.

For the second day, we will be cycling through a simple trail in the morning. After which we will go onboard a sampan for a ride through the mangrove swamp! We will also visit the traditional fishing village to get a first hand experience of the lives of being a fisherman!

Day 1	Meet early at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal with own bikes. After which we will board the 9am ferry to Tanjung Pinang, the largest town on Bintan. The ferry ride takes 2 hours. Activities start after lunch. There are 3 options for you to choose from :
	Option 1 - Leisure Cyclist Riding on tarred roads by Trikora beach - about 25 km. Fishing at kelong	Option 2 - Offroad Cyclist Lots of trail riding and end with a ride by the beach - about 25 km. Fishing at kelong	Option 3 - Multi Adventurer Riding on tarred roads by Trikora beach - about 25km. Sightsee along the way Fishing at kelong
Day 2	Riding on the beach and simple trail riding - about 15 km.	Offroad riding through the undulating hills - about 15-25 km. End with a boat ride through the swamps!	Boat ride through swamp. Visit to waterfall. Kampung tour.
	Take the 6pm ferry from Tanjung Pinang Ferry Terminal. The ferry ride back to Tanah Merah Terminal takes 2 hours.

Rooms at kelong are very basic with no air-con ( but with fans ) nor TV. Take this as a retreat from city life. Though simple, they are very clean and tidy. Experience a natural aquarium right at your doorstep with fishes swimming in the clear clear beneath ... and spend the night gazing at the starry skies above :-)

Terrain for cycling varies depending on your option.

For the offroad cyclist, expect lots of exciting trails through the forest and along the coast. There's beautiful beach ride too.

For the leisure cyclist, riding is on flat and tarred roads along the beautiful Trikora coast. Expect to see lots of interesting things along the way.

For the multi-adventurer, your trip is varied with lots of different activities. Take a bBoat ride through the mangrove swamp river with the best views of Gunung Bintan. Then visit the only waterfall in Bintan and finally end your tour with a visit to the local kampong where one of the attractions is watching the blacksmith at work !
